Nasc invites Applicants for the Position of

Community Development Officer (Full Time 3 Year Contract)


Applicants should have at least 2 years experience in similar position and ability to work in dynamic multicultural centre. The position is on a two year contract basis.

The person will be responsible for the following duties:
• To support, facilitate and develop existing Nasc sub groups e.g. Speaker’s Panel, Country of Origin Development Education Project, Social and Cultural Group
• To develop and facilitate new groups where appropriate
• To keep records of all sub group meetings and to file these minutes and other documentation relevant to working groups, in an appropriate, user-friendly manner
• To liaise with inward Migrants in Cork City and County region
• To outreach to new communities and members and encourage participation in collective action work
• To link with other organisations and networks where appropriate, both locally and nationally
• To maintain records of work and write a monthly report on work
• To assist in training new volunteers and staff from time to time
• To represent Nasc at meetings or events as requested and to report back on these meetings
• To assist, as part of a team, in responding to any other duties as they arise from time to time
• To work with other members of the staff team in developing the Nasc Centre as a significant point of contact for inward Migrants in Cork
• To carry out other appropriate tasks as part of the staff team, as requested by the Director

Salary: in the region of €32,000 to €34,000 depending on experience
